Sadly, yes. Because Saddam had nothing to do with Al-Queda and didn't have weapons of mass destruction, the 'Muslim' world has gotten it in their heads that the US wants to either destroy their way of life, or take over their resources.

They have acted accordingly.

I don't think that getting rid of Saddam was wrong, but it should have been done without trying to link him to Bin-Laden, and really they should have gotten rid of Bin-Laden first.

"Fighting in Iraq involves dozens of militias and gangs. Among the major combatants: Al-Qaeda in Iraq..., Badr Brigade..., Mahdi Army..., Mujahedin Shura Council..., Peshmerga..." USA Today, Nov 30, 2006

With so many factions fighting against each and for power, our soldiers are caught in the middle. It is worse now for Iraq, and most definitely, for the US. It's a Catch-22.

I believe it is true. At least last time the US wasn't really at war with Saddam. Now, especially with his hanging, things are going to get worse. It's not because of him but because of the new breed coming through. What the US has been doing may also not be helping though.

We are in a much poorer security position now than we were five years ago, and have lost significant personal freedoms in exchange.
