I went to chicago for vacations and some black guy started insulting me because I'm mexican....and when I asked how could he be so racist when blacks are suppossed to complaint so much about racism, he got mad at me for calling him black??

yoshi....you'll be happy to know that genetically, white people are the closest to black people, asians and native americans being the furthest, but we all come from africa anyway, so I guess you're a filthy animal too

Well, Nativegirl, I've been to Chicago numerous times, and I was stunned at the level of racism I saw, mostly on the part of Blacks. It was scary, and I'm someone who was raised in Black neghborhoods and schools.
My own kids are mixed (half Black) and I have to admit that some of the folks on my Old Lady's side of the family are racist as can be. And yes, they're Black.

Its sad to hear but racism is everywhere. I have heard so many comments about so many races in my life time. Peoples discussions you can hear them say things like "oh he is Mexican" very obvious on the Mexican or "oh she was Black" very stressed on the black.. What I am saying is everyone has there stereotypes on everyone else.
To keep it simple lets just call everyone Americans and leave it at that...

Ok, first of all YOSHI, That was the most ignorant thing I have ever heard in my life. Black people didnt come to America voluntarily, remember that. we were forced her, to be slaves, and we were TREATED like ******* animals!!! You stupid SOB! Anyways, maybe that guy was racist, but hell, anybody can be racist, and I feel that black people have very good reason for not liking other races. Mexicans kep African Americans in slavery before the Europeans in America did. I supose he did. I don't tolerate any rasicm. I don't even like the "N" word when people say it with and "igga" ending. It's the same bullshit and it's stupid. We shouldn't be making up words to call people just because they're of a different culture. Boo hoo, we all look different. Get over it assholes, that's what makes our world B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. It's a strange world we live in. I would probably get the same treatment for being an aussie and talking funny.
I guess that guy has real issues and needs a lot of therapy. Don't knock yourself about trying to figure people like him out, they're not worth your time or effort.

hey I'm from Chicago and am part Mexican and I've never experienced racism there ever! i even worked in a white castle where there were probably 80% black coworkers. I've had more racism towards me now living in Texas. i think you were just targeted b/c you were a tourist. we (Chicagoans) have a habit of being rude! sorry for your trip.. hope you can give the windy city another chance..go cubs!

Don't worry too much about it. Doesn't sound like you did anything wrong to me.
This happens because too many people enjoy double standards which make them feel superior somehow, or give them license to be sadistic jerks.

Like I've said before some people are just mean and look for reasons to cause trouble. He probably believes in the fairy tale that society made him the way he is so it isn't his fault.

racism will never go away because when a person is offended they make a big deal. if simple word were not took to heart racism would not be present. Take meaning away from offensive words and they have no power
