Actually, England gave them the land not America.
I don't know the answer because half of the problems in the Mid East wouldn't be there if America didn't support Israel. Israel doesn't have oil so you would think the US would side with the Arabs..
If you listen to all of the Israelis against the Palestinians, they usually have NY accents.
However, I am not taking sides with either party because the Arabs treat the Bantu people in Chad and The Sudan badly and come over here with prejudices.

Because their position is reasonable.
The original placement of European Jews was a consequence of WW II and the impact on native Palestinians was relatively small.
The casualties of the original founding of the state of Israel would have been between the Jewish settlers and the British except that others joined in. The point here is that if you start shooting, you can expect to be shot back at.
The displacement of the Palestinian people was entirely voluntary. The leaders of the new state of Israel were begging the Palestinians to stay, but the Arab League nations, who later dropped them like a hot potato, convinced them to leave in order to get them out of the way when the shooting started--and it was started then and many times since then by the arab states.
The moral difference now is that the Israelis now target legitimate targets, but accept more collateral damage than many find acceptable, whereas Islamic Jihad and such groups attack randomly, so that children are considered by them legitimate targets rather than accidental collateral damage.
And finally the Israelis have time and again shown a willingness to call cease-fires and work for peace, and it is always the other side that instigates the next round of violence.
So if you're a Palestinian and tired of being shot at, the people you should be angry at are not the Israelis but your neighbors. If you can stop them shooting, the Israelis will stop, too. If you stop them carrying explosives, they won't be jailed. That's what there's been sixty years of, and that's what America is tired of.

Has there ever been a time when ANY group of people have ALL supported something? Hitler, even at the height of his popularity in Nazi Germany never had ALL the support of ALL Germans. It is therefore not reasonable to make such a statement you have made.
Since time immemorial people, nations have been displaced, at war and even eliminated. History will always be repeated as long as there are people making it.
You question the creation of the state of Israel as if were only a recent event of 60 some years ago. Are you not aware of the various Jewish kingdoms who share a history of this region for thousands of years?
This region was also part of the Roman Empire so isn’t is reasonable that Italy should have something to say? Many nations of many ethnic origins all share the history of this region.
From ALL of the recorded history of this region decide then who has the ultimate rights to it. The point is that this region of the world has been fought over since humanity was first able to record the history of its struggle.
Allow me to ask at what point in history would you accept for who can make rightful claims for a particular region? How far back should we go…60, 100, 200 years or even thousands of years?
It seems fair and reasonable that a group of people who share a history of this region dating for thousands of years should have at least their own nation.
Other ethnic peoples who share this history do have their own nations. This same principle applies to events of today. The Kurds in Iraq are a good example and many people accept that the Kurds ought to have their own nation while other people of same religious beliefs do not agree.
Where can one draw the line? The support America gives Israel must be in the principles of the basic tenets of which America was founded. America also supports Taiwan – a long story there…
If we are questioning the creation of the state of Israel wouldn’t it be reasonable to question others? While Israel was being created so to was Kuwait created by the British as it used to be part of Iraq.
There are many other places in the world which we could apply this same principle. How many nations have vanished and have been vanquished this century?
Whatever happened to Prussia?
What if we move the clock back 200 ~ 300 years?
What should be done all over the world? If we question the validity of Israel then should we not also question the validity of ENTIRE continents? What should be done with North and South America and Australia?
When I blow this whistle everyone moves back to where they came from………..wait for it…
We cannot change the past by living there; our future is made today. It is my hope and a hope that you and others could share is that we as a human nation can forget what we can’t change and live for today, together.

What planet are you living on? Where did all this happen? The "Israeli regime" is a democratic one, granting voting rights to even its Arab citizens. (Try imagining an Arab country with several Jewish members of parliament -- if you can imagine an Arab country with a parliament. There are 21 Arab countries. How many of them grant rights to Jews?) As I recall, in the formation of Israel, it was her Arab neighbors and opponents who had all the cards. Sure, farmland, olive plantations, and homes were destroyed -- if they were owned by Jews. The Jews were outnumbered 17 to 1, and were fighting for their lives against a people whose culture thought nothing of casual mass murder, wholesale robbery, and creating swarms of refugees. (Where "refugee" means "someone who got away from you before you were able to kill them.") When those tactics didn't work for the Arab side, they decided to accuse their enemies of them. Anyone who hasn't researched the history of that land from valid sources would be taken in by that propaganda; and liars of course would pretend to believe it from the start.
If the Palestinians were not so completely consumed with exterminating the Israelis and were instead primarily preoccupied with making a better life for themselves and everyone around them, they wouldn't be in the position they're in. Truly, as the late Abba Eban put it, the Palestinians have "never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity." They love violence so much, that they can only be dealt with militarily. Think about it: if they'd ALL, universally, taken up the methodology of Mahatma Ghandi, they'd have had a state of their own two decades ago. And that would be because people who behave like Ghandi are not a threat to your life; you can safely allow them their desire for a state of their own. Instead the Palestinians raise their own kids to believe in murder and hatred, so much that they teach the kids to desire "shahada" in the pursuit of their killing. Such a phenomenon of sheer implacable hatred may be indeed unique – or at the very least extremely rare – in recent memory. [Your memory anyhow. I remember the Nazis; the Turks on the Armenians; and others.]

Israel has a right of land. The country is surrounded with nations hostile to it and want to eradicate it from the map. Other people (muslims) in far away lands, too want to destroy Israel. As any nation, Israel got to protect its citizens. Any nation which would be in same condition as Israel would have reacted the same way and many would have reacted worse than Israel does. For example, Muslims, just draw some cartoons, you'll see how violent they become. Show them proof of their violence, they will accuse you of false propaganda and declare jihad on you. Ask Salman R. who rightly wrote about their satanic verses. Still many call it pissful islam. Sorry peaceful islam.

Are you really naive to think the Isreali regime is supported by "all Americans"? Those are your words. I know for a fact you're wrong. I'm an American and have never supported ANY country's Government in the Middle East, yes, even Isreal. I know others that don't support them too.

Because Israel is victim of racist Arabs who live their lives based on hate for Jews.
Ever been to the west bank? Why don't you take a look at the graffiti on their walls and what they teach their kids in schools about Jews.
These people (while not all of them, but most of them) are racist, plain and simple, they are the equivalent of Arab Nazi's.

The Jews were already there. Sooner or later, they would have wanted their own country when the current govt. would have started to suppress them for being Jewish, just like Hitler
