When I was having my first baby, there was a women I shared my room with who had just delivered a baby and her tubes were tied. I guess the chances are rare, but just the same, it can happen. Women should be carefully watched by their doctor, if this is the case because there is a risk that they could have a tubal pregnancy. And if this happens, the mothers life could be at risk, and the pregnancy is therefore terminated. Good Luck to your friend.

I have a friend that had her tubes tied and 2 years later, she got pregnant. Though she was shocked, she had a wonderful little boy that her and her husband dote on. She had the type of ligation where they clamped the tubes with clips. When she had the tubes done again, the doctor clipped a section out of the tubes and burned and clipped the open ends. That's the type of ligation I had done and I had no problems. So your friend needs to ask the doctor what type of tube tying she had done and have a pregnancy test done. It can happen.

yes this is possible, it's called a tubal pregnancy. However it is very rare to get pregnant after the tubes are tied, if it is done right the first time. The doctors will not alow her to have a baby if she got pregnant in the tubes. They will inject a posion to abort it, then do surgery. It can happen and you have a higher risk of getting a tubal pregnancy if you had it done, got them undone, and had them tied again. i have done some research for you and enclosed the web sites. Hope they are helpful!

Well, chances are slim to almost none but there have been cases where the doctor did not do a good job on the tubes and they either grew back together or opened back up.

It's not completely impossible for that to happen. But because of scar tissue and the like, it increases the risk of having an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy. Those can be dangerous if not found in time. If she has any implication that she could be pregnant, then I would suggest for her to go to the Dr and have a pregnancy test done and let them do a scan. I hope that things go well for your friend and his GF.

Depends when the baby was concieved.
If it was concieved before she got her tubes tied, then probably yes.
If it was afterwards, then probably no.
It's quite rare.
