The episod is called "Kenny Die's" from season 5. He comes back in season 6's "Red Sleigh Down." He died of MS or something...it was sad!!

Kenny died for good? in the season 5 episode "Kenny Dies" , when he is diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. He doesn't appear until "Red Sleigh Down" of season 6 when he shows up out of nowhere and the boys ask where he's been all this time.

Kenny is still alive....they brought him back to life after Butters couldnt cut the mustard.
