Enfamil AR--

The AR stands for added rice
It is for babies who spit up frequently. It helps bc it has rice starch not rice cereal. It coats thebabies tummy and helps keep the milk down.

Good Luck!!

You could possibly try a formula with comfort proteins (it will have that on the container), these are easier to be digested. Also I would check with your doctor about Acid Reflux Disease. Our son was diagnosed with it at a couple months old as he was spitting up everything, and all the time. I believe they prescribed him a small pill I believe Zantac (dosage depends on dr)., this seemed to work well.

Also... the soy never seemed to work well for our son either- spitting up did get worse.
As of now we are on Enfamil Gentlease Lipil- works wonders.
It can take up to a week for the new formula to kick in if you change it.

My doctor just prescribed *but no prescription is needed for it* nutriminagen *sp?* it has neither soy nor lactose protiens in it. The protiens that are in it are seriously broke down so that its not as "rich" as the other formulas.

Ask your daughters peditracian about it, call him immediatly if your daughter appears to be loosing weight, is running a fever, crying or aspirating on the formula.

There may be a underlying issue like Gastroesophigal Reflux Disease aka GERD also known as Infant Heartburn. If that is the case he may prescribe any number of medicenes such as Xantac.

To be honest your daughter going Linda Blair from the exoricist is not normal, this is why I called my daughters peditrician who immediatly made an appt. to see her.

My son did the same thing, we had to put him on Lactose free milk, u may want to check with your Dr and see if that might help. It helped us A Lot.... He still spits up but not as bad. Plus we burp him at 2 ounces, sometimes 3. Best of luck.

1. Your baby is eating to much for her little stomach so she's spitting up the extra milk.
2. The top valve of your baby's stomach is not strong enough to keep the milk in her stomach, so it comes back up. This muscle strengthens and functions properly as the baby grows older.
3. There is gas in your baby's stomach which forces the milk out with it on its way out.

These are all the possibilies i know of. I suggest you take her to the dr. so exact diagnosis. He might give you medicine that helps with the gas, thus less spitting up.Some babies are like that though, my baby is one and i've been told its normal.

I know when my newborn threw up like that they switched her formula, that helped, in your case maybe you need to ask the DR and he/she could suggest a different kind. My cousin had to drink goats milk even as a newborn

My son did the same thing at that age. We took him to the doctor and they said it is normal and there really isn't anything we could do. Just keep trying to feed him.

You can try lactose free formula. Also, talk to your doctor, you need to rule out pyloric stenosis which is a blockage that prevents her from digesting her food and forces it back up and out.
