Neil Alden Armstrong (born August 5, 1930) is a former American astronaut, test pilot, and Naval Aviator, and was the first human to set foot on the Moon. Armstrong's first spaceflight was Gemini 8 in 1966, for which he was the command pilot. On this mission, he performed the first manned docking of two spacecraft together with pilot David Scott. Armstrong's second and last spaceflight was as mission commander of the Apollo 11 moon landing mission on July 20, 1969. On this famous "giant leap for mankind", Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin descended to the lunar surface and spent 2.5 hours exploring, while Michael Collins orbited above.

Babe Ruth. He accidentally fell on his ball after hitting it.

Actually, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first together, though technically Armstrong set foot on the moon first.

Martha P, you really should give credit to Wikipedia for copying that answer.

The first man IN the moon... "There is... a Talmudic tradition, that Jacob is on the moon, although no such mention appears in the Bible. Another tradition, both Christian and Jewish, claims him as Cain, the Wanderer, forever doomed to circle the Earth." That I got from Wiki

I can't believe anyone capable of typing doesn't know that Neil Armstrong was the first man to set foot on the moon.

Therefore I must assume that the question as it was typed is some sort of joke, so to that I'll reply: Probably some Greek (God).

First man to set foot on the Earth Moon was named Throckmorton Grendle. He was abducted for study from 13th century Earth and transported to our temporary base on the far side of your moon for study. He was not very anxious to return to the plague ridden England of the 1200s and asked to go with us when we left this system. He visited three other worlds with us and died 14 of your years later (his relativistic time) on the Gonfrix home world. He was homesick near the end.
