I put my 13 week old baby to bed around 7:00. This is a new time for her, but we decided to give it a try because she cries every night after her last feeding for about an hour (very colic). Well tonight I put her to bed at 7:00, I haven't heard a peep from her but she is awake and it's now past 9:30. She is sucking her thumb, she moves a bit, sucks her thumb, etc. But she is not crying (that's new for us). She sleeps throught the night and wakes up usually between 7:30 - 9:00. Is it mean for us to leave her in her bed? I know she would cry if we would pick her up. Could it be that since I usually go to bed at the same time as her I just don't hear all her movements when I'm in bed? I feel bad.

Maybe she was overstimulated being up and held in the evening when she was tired. She may just need the quiet darkness. Sometimes I worry about my son as well because when I hear some noise in the night (he's not sleeping through) he is just lying there cooing and sucking his hand. I always wonder how long he's been there and if he's just been awake by himself. He doesn't seem upset and it sounds like your daughter is okay, so I'd let her be peaceful and fall asleep at her own pace.

DONT FEEL BAD. A new time for her is good, becausze before she was probobly not tired yet. Now maybe she is more tired now that you put her to bed around a later time. Also, don't keep experimenting new bedtimes for she will wake up in the morning at a different time from the last morning because she went to bedt at a different time the night before. If the 7:00 is working fro her AND for you, I say you stay with it unless other problems occur. Hope I have helped you. Have a wonderful day!

I don't see a problem with what you're doing. I don't believe in jumping every time a baby cries. Many others would disagree.

It's important that it works for you and your family and that everyone is getting their needed rest. Other than that, if the baby is being well cared for, it really doesn't matter what others think.

nothing wrong with leaving her in the bed. my second child did not want to be held while he was tired, he got tired and wanted to go to bed, he did like she is doing. I say let her along, she may like sleeping like she is and being alone in her bed. Not all babies want to be held all the time.

Doesn't sound like something to worry about.
