Empire OF The Sun, its amazing movie and yes, i am a guy and its one of only two movies that i can cry in and the other is Titanic. I am a sucker for romantic,sad,devastating movies.

About Schmidt. I have never cried so hard at a movie. My best friend and mother were there too, and I usually don't cry at movies in front of others. I had just gotten back from working as a volunteer teacher in Africa, and the part of Schmidt's little African boy that he sponsored through a "Save the Children"-type organization really got to me.

I don't think there is an absolute answer. For me it was the Movie Dad starring Jack Lemmon and Ted Danson from 1989.
Also starred Kevin Spacey, Olympia Dukakis, and Ethan Hawke.
It was one of Kevin Spacey's early movies.
Its a very sad movie that has made me cry every single time I've seen it.
