I would say worldwide that it would be the war on Iraq, Saddam's guilty verdict, Steve Irwin's death, the Beaconsfield Miners incident in OZ, The Pope's Muslim uproar, the Nicole and Tom seperate weddings, any of the Sport finale's, Ian Thorpe's retirement etc

Tasmanian miners rescued in a collapsed mine shaft , the rescue took about 10 days, it was exciting to see them released after all this time in a small cage hundreds of metres underground.
One of their workmates was killed in the accident, he was found first and it was a miracle the other 2 were found alive. Well done Tod and Larry!!!!!
