I am going to my first gyno visit what do they do and how dose it feel?

Must be honest, it is probably one of every womens most un favorite things, however most gyno are very patient and they explain every move they make. You can expect a breast exam, a pelvic exam which is how the doc will check for anything unususal in and around your uterus overies etc. by palpated the stomach with one hand and feeling from the inside with the other. and a pap smear this is where the doc will insert a speculum and collect a sample from the cervix. the whole exam is over in like 5 minutes, just take deep breaths and dont be nervous as that can make it more uncomfortable. It's not bad. You just have to detach yourself from it all. I just act like it's any other examination. And, if you are getting a pap smear, just force yourself to relax. It's uncomfortable, but not painful, and the tenser you are, the more uncomfortable it is. Just concentrate on relaxing all your muscles, and it will be over before you know it.
The thought of it is worse than the exam. Good luck.
