To Kill A Mockingbird...one of my fav movies of all time! The book was really good as well. Scout had a lot of pre-conceived notions of a lot of different people in the beginning of the story. She saw how Atticus reacted to those same situations, and also hearing him explain why she should never judge people. This helped shape her life. Especially when Atticus was defending Tom during the trial, he told her not to pay attention to anything that she might hear about him. With Atticus as a role model, how could she not turn out to be very understanding of everyone, regardless of race, gender, nationality, etc.

Personally, I think we all need to pay attention to what Atticus taught his children. I think the world would be a better place.

But I hope this answered your question.

OMG, Did you even read the book. The story takes place during Scout's childhood and the entire story is about racism. Read the book or rent the movie, it is really good.

Scout, as an adult, may err on the side of understanding and tolerance, which are not necessarily bad.

There were several people that she had misconceptions about in the beginning, but they turned out to be the people that stood up for her in the end. She also had a great role model in her father to teach her that it's not what we look like that defines us, but what we do!

Well obviously she saw that white people, such as her father, aren't mean/racist to other races. And that she shouldn't be either.

Also, her childhood showed her how to react to different events in life.
