If the engine starts when its dry then the problem is moisture shorting out the ignition or wiring that is causing the problem. You will need the vehicle under a cover and it will have to be raining to properly check it since it only happens when it rains. Check the distributor cap for a good fit, Check the electronic wires that go to the distributor, check the electronic coil, If the coil is defective it will cause a spark to jump to the ground causing it to not start. One more thing you can try is spray WD-40 on the electrical wiring at the distributor and coil and connecting wires, do one spot at a time to get a process of elimination, if it starts after a certain wire or part is sprayed then that's where the problem is. It sounds like you got a good start on it. Good Luck and GOD Bless

Spark, fuel and compression. You changed quite a bit, but do you have spartk? If not then you may have a bad coil perhaps? No power going to the distributor? A broken distributor gear? Or do you not have fuel? Possibly a bad fuel pump? or plugged fuel filter? And compression , do you have any? Possibly jumped timing? Start with the 3 basics and then start then continue with the diagnosis. Good luck.

It is due to moisture in the ignition system. When it rains or humidity is high condensation builds up, usually in the distributor.
Go to auto parts store and ask for/get a spray sealer that will seal out moisture. There is also a certain electronic grease I use to use in my old type car that worked well.

You didn't mention if you were actually getting spark or not, but if you are then check the ceramic fuel pump resistor on the driver's fender under the hood near the front. Those things go out all the time and moisture can make them erratic. Mom used to keep one in the glove box on her 89 and I even showed her how to put it on if she got stuck somewhere. Just a suggestion.

i own a repair shop, and do your self a favor,,try looking at the wires at the base of the distributor they have a tendency to crack, and get real dried out,and this causes spark to jump to ground when there's moisture present,,since you have done all the other major things to it,id at least look at this small harness,i have found a lot of them bad before,i been at this for 36 yrs,.and i also own one of those things,,i have put 3 distributors in it,,but i also have over 400 thousand on it so im not complaining any at all,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s
