I think you mean WHAT are the advantages. If you can finanacially manage, there at more advantages than not. learning to manage your finances is very important.

The advantages are that you are forced to be responsible for the all the things your parent or parents took care of while you were growing. If you've had a good relationship with your parents, it's kind of scary leaving that safe and secure environment to spread your wings. Hopefully, they have given you the tools to thrive and survive out there on your own.

Some questions to ask would be; can you afford it, were you taught how to manage money, do you make enough to pay the utilities, the car payment, the car insurance, renter's insurance.

You will have freedom of choice to make your own decisions good and bad. No one to answer to, no one to tell you pick up your clothes, do the dishes. That's very appealing and something I didn't experience till my 50's. I had a baby at a very young age and never did have the freedom of only thinking of myself.

I would say it can be a very positive experience and an esteem builder.........

Advantages: I can control when, if and how often I talk to my mother (and here lately she's become a big pain). I answer to no body but myself..oops my dog...normally there is nobody telling you when to eat, clean house, pay bills, go to bed, get up, what to wear, when to go out, etc (though I am almost 36 and my mom still does..told you she is being a pain). Dis: reverse the above. Add: you are responsible for making your own money and paying your own rent, buying food, utilities, etc, car expenses, etc

It really depends on your situation at home. If it is unbearable and dysfunctional and you think you can really make your life better by living away from home and be more functional then that would be best. But it is not so easy living away from parents, it is a cruel world if one is not emotionally, mentally and spiritually strong. When you live with your parents, you have someone to tell you what to do. When you live alone, you can do whatever you want to do. Anyway, I moved out the day I turned 18. My mom went on vacation two weeks later, when she returned home, I had moved back in. I wasn't ready to be alone then. Now, I would never want to live under someone else's rules. It's all part of growing up.
