No special memories for me but I love the song.
I know a young man who was at a Heart concert and was seated right in front of Ann and when she sang the song she looked at him a lot while singing. Later she flicked the guitar thing (pic?) at him and he missed it but she threw another which he caught. He was also given the song sheet she used for the concert. So I expect 'Alone' would have memories for him. Heart are fantastic and to hear Ann sing 'Alone' is something else.
Bono is a great admirer of Heart.

Yup!
California! and the very first time I realized that I was never going to get back with my ex...
Took me years after that... and the song "hard Feelings" By Fleetwood Mac to understand that not being able to get back together with him was the best thing that I could have ever done for myself!
