Let's say i Gots this friend who likes be be smokin Mary Jane Should he be cleaing out his pipe or keep it dirty? any advantage over either??

You need to clean it every now and then because the resin will spoil the flavor of the herb. Especially if you have some KGB(killer green bud).

Your friend should clean the pipe whenever it get's too hard to smoke out of. It's okay to let the resin build up because it helps the weed burn slower but eventually it will get to a point where you will have to clean it out for better air flow. To clean a pipe use 420 cleaner available at smoke shops, or soak the pipe in boiling water for 1 hour or until cleaner.
Note: the pipe will never be as clean as when you first got it and that's okay, it's not meant to be.

When I did smoke I'd clean after every quarter (which is usually how I bought them) then after I'd clean it I'd smoke the resin. MM those days but I'm done with that. Thank you for the nastalgia though.

Make your own pipe . Use a briar knob . Better yet ; grow your own tobacco . I grew English Burley , delicious.
