How long can a divorce be put on hold?
my wife and i separated in 2004, and i filed for divocre in 2005, since then we are trying to work it out, i put the divorce on hold last year, im still not sure we get along well enough to stay married, but it will be 2 years soon that i filed, how long will it stay on hold? does it automatically become final ,or cancel itself, i would like to give my marraige another year to see how we do

the lawyer said he will put the matter on hold until he hears from me, but i want to know how long can it stay on hold before i have to make a decision

Better check with the lawyer. They will drop the case and if things don't work out you will pay again cuz the lawyers are thieves. They will not let you know!!!!

if you filed and your lawyer submitted the papers to the court you may already be divorced. if you have not received anything than there is a good chance that they were not submitted to the court. This is something you should call you lawyer about. You will not have to appear before a judge.

The judge usually sets a limit on how long a divorce case can be open. He/ She likes to clear cases from his docket as soon as possible.
