What is the difference between 2.5" and 3.5" external HDD (USB interface)?
Which one can I use for laptop PC? Which one is better and can i use for both desktop and laptop?

2.5" for laptop
and 3.5" desktop
with an adaptor u cau use bouth!! on your laptop!

2.5" will generally cost more per gigabyte than a 3.5" HDD.

Out side of that, and portability, there really isn't any significant difference.

I have both 2.5 and 3.5 inch HDD's - the 2.5 is much more portable, but the capacity is much less that the 3.5. The 2.5 also draws less power than the 3.5 - so from a notebook standpoint it drains less battery.

Both are totally viable options - it really depends on what you need - capacity or portability.

And how do costs figure into your decision.

the size of the hard drive in inches 2.5" vice 3.5". If all else is the same either will work for desktop or lat top if you have the drivers needed.

2.5" is for laptop and it better if u use it
