A sense is something that you USE to observe. You USE your sight, you USE your hearing, you USE you touch, you USE your smell, and you USE your taste. You can't USE your heat or USE your cold...it just doesn't make sense. :o) Fun question! Hope this helps!

The sense of heat/cold is included into touch because when touch or place your skin close to something the heat/cold touches your skin which send a response to your brain.

Heat or cold is determined by a combination of senses, primarily that of touch. Parallels can be drawn to taste; sweet and sour, for example, is determined through taste and smell (the nose plays in important part in tasting) and is inarguably a sensation, not a sense.

Hi!

The sensations of heat and cold depend upon the presence or absence of heat in the air that's against your skin and then transmitted into your body. The sensations that you experience from the air are related to the sensation of "touch".

I hope this helps!
