I'm guessing it was around $300-400. I can't remember. If you know the date/amount of the subsequent price drops that would be helpful too.

The very first Playstation was $200 and it came out around 1995. Then the price dropped around 1998 to $100 and since the PS2 came out in 2001 an original PS1 can be found at yard sales and used game stores for $5-$15.

I know that in 2001 it was going for $100 because that's when I got mine. I'm pretty sure it was 2001, but I know it was shortly after the PS2 came out so whenever that was.

300 when is was brand new but you could get it for 100 now
