A 4.0 means you have all A's. At most schools you can't even get an A- to get a 4.0. However, it's not something you should worry all that much about. Do the best you can, but don't make your grade point your life. If you take challenging classes and get respectable grades, and are also a well-balanced person, that's really more important than "perfection".

I don't know if it is the same in your school . . . but in my school (and many other private schools around my area), if you take a lot of honors / ap class you can get a 4.0 gpa or over..( well mines is over 4.0 so far )
b/c honors/ ap classes are weighted differently, for example
100% average is a 5.0. so you do the math
