During the first day I after I put my nail polish on, its starts flaking! Then it looks aweful!

I get all the oil off my nails first with fingernail polish remover (I've tried it without doing this and with doing this)

Then I put on a clear coat.

Then the color twice.

Then the clear coat again!

Any suggestions? I'm so tired of this!!!!

Get a better nail polish. Any drug store (or Wal-Mart) brand is going to peel as soon as you get in the bathtub or hit them against something. Try OPI. It stays on for weeks without even the teeniest chip. Yes, it is more expensive--but think about how much money you're throwing away on nail polish that has to be fixed every day.

Instead of using a clear top coat as a base coat, go to Sally Beauty Supply and pick up a bottle of Orly, "Bonder" base coat. It is a natural nail polish adhesive that helps your polish stay put. As far as the rest, you're doing it right, but a really good Top Coat may help. I recommend Seche Vite Quick Dry Top Coat. It's a bit expensive, but I think you'll find it is worth it.

As someone else mentioned, "Stickey" base coat is good also, it is a CND (Creative Nail Design) product. As a professional, I prefer CND product to OPI

Do put two coats of color, because it livens the color and makes it darker.

Do put on a clear coat first. Put an overcoat on top.

Some nail polish companies are better than others. Experiment.

*Wait a day after using nail polish remover. Nail polish remover takes off a tiny, tiny bit of your nail, and it makes your nailpolish not able to hold as well to your nail.

Use a top coat every 2-3 days to prolong and to refresh the color.

Seche Vite .. you can get it at Sally Beauty. It's by far the best top coat on the market. For the base coat, "Stickey" (I forget who makes it) Also available at Sally Beauty.

Try a different brand because if you get a good brand ( it may be more expensive but it works) it wont flake as much.
