It's possible that it could yes.

It might.

You should get a checkup before trying to conceive. There are a few things that can go wrong during the procedure. Your fallopian tubes might be blocked, if all the contents of the uterus weren't completely removed (which happens more often than we think). There might be scarring from the scraping.

Your gynecologist can check all that and make sure you're okay to conceive. I've never heard that you should wait a year. Not sure who told you that, but I don't see why you'd have to wait that long. If that was your doctor, I'd see another for this checkup.

Those things are more likely to happen if the doctor is rushed or inexperienced. There's really no way for the woman to tell that, since she's focused on other things during the procedure, so you really want a checkup to make sure.

On the other hand, if you had a medical abortion instead of a surgical one (you took pills to induce a miscarriage), that will not affect anything.

Good luck!

shouldn't affect you no. my wife was in a similar position to you and she fell pregnant no problems at all, we now have two babies. not sure about the year wait though, maybe the website www.mayoclinic.com will have the exact medical terminology under obstetrics and abortions. they say that once you have had this kind of operation or give birth it is easier to fall pregnant almost straight away, so dependant upon your medical condition etc and how fertile you both are should life will decide its own fate. Good luck anyway. Having a child is the most beautiful gift of all. Would be best to take advice from a doctor though if your not sure if your doing the right thing for your body.

Abortion could scar you seriously (both mentally and physically) and it should be considered only as a last resort if there are serious circumstances involved. It's the 21st century and there are better ways for family planning.
Only a doctor can tell you whether your previous abortion has jeopardised your future chances to become pregnant. Some of the mental scars might take even longer than a year to heal up.
Relax and do not panic before you speak to a specialist. Things might be looking up for you :)
Think seriously about the person you would like to have a kid with.
That would be your mature response to what happened.
Good luck!

Abortion can have 2 negative affects on future pregnancies: Scar tissue can cause an inability for the fertilized egg to latch on to the uterine lining, therfore causing a miscarriage. The second complication is rare, but you should still consult your doctor. Sometimes after an abortion, a woman's body sees a fertilized egg as something dangerous, so the immune system attacks the embryo and destroys it. There is a shot that a woman can get throughout her pregnancy to prevent her body from "eating" her baby, so you should definitely speak with your doctor. Good luck.

I think this is mainly answerable by how far pregnant you were when you had the abortion. If it was very early and all you needed was the tablets then I would find it highly unlikely you would have any problems now. But if you had to go into theatre to have the abortion then the risks are greatly increased. Good luck to you.

I am almost 100 % sure that having an abortion will not affect you becoming pregnant later on in life.

Abortion can cause scarring that can in some cases effect getting pregnant again but I think the chances are slim to none. Case in point: the girls that have multiple abortions. You can ask your obgyn to be sure. Good Luck and Take Care.

I think what a lot of people forget is that this girl is asking a question and if you don't want to answer the question-shut up. She's not asking anybody out there if they feel that her having an abortion was wrong. It was her decision to make, and I'm sure not one that was made easily. If you can't help her, go on to the next question. Her question isn't an open forum for people to spout their opinions on abortions. The decision was hers to make, and is done. I wish you Pro-Life j@ck@sses like the girl above me would just go away.

abortion only effects long term problems if you get a infection after a abortion, my sister had one and got an infection and isnt sure if she can have kids, but if you didnt get an infection after ya abortion there no reason why u shouldnt get pregnant. unless you have another problem u dont know bout.
