I'm preggo so I'm going to have to shuffle my daughters carseat when the baby is born.

I'm thinking of putting my daughter behind the passenger seat and the new baby in the middle.

Has anyone done this? I'm a little concerned about her messing with the baby but I'm not sure how else to do it other then putting them both on the sides. I don't want to do that!

The way you're planning on arranging them would be fine. She might try to mess with the baby, but you'll just have to correct her a few times to stop it. Congrats on number 2 :-)

We've tried the baby seat in the middle with a child seat on the passenger side. It works, but it is a little crowded. Now we do the baby seat on the passenger side and the child seat behind the driver, and that seems to work the best.

i have the same problem! I Put my daughter behind the passenger seat and the baby in the middel, just teach your other child not to mess with the baby, maybe put a "practice" carseat in the back with a doll or something and tell her the deal. Good luck.

thats what we've done too, i have my daughter behind the driver and my son in the middle. It works out okay and my daughter doesn't bother him, although my son hates the car with a passion and screams the whole time he's in it, but thats beside the point. My daughter does great with the new baby and loves having him within a arms reach, if nothing else she tries to help him more then anything. Its really sweet. I'd suggest teaching your daughter about how to care for a newborn baby that way its not such a shock to her. good luck.

Im gonna be in the same situation except I have 9 year old daughter too. Im thinking about putting sons car seat behind passenger and baby in middle and my daughter can sit behind driver. You might have to teach your daughter about messing with the baby but she'll learn. Good Luck and Congrats!!!!

I am pregnant with my second child and we are sliding my daughter behind the passenger seat and putting the baby in the middle. This way you still have room for an adult back there and they can deal with any problems that evolve. Good Luck.

I don't understand why it's so important to have the baby in the middle. With No.1, it just seems like the way to go. Trust me as a mother of 3 soon to be 4, it will be easier for you to have them on the sides. Trying to go to the middle gets hard on your back, etc. They will need their space. My kids were all very close in age. I tried the middle thing but toddlers don't understand completly about keeping their hands to themselves and accidently throwing a cup, etc. But it's your choice. Good luck in whatever decision you make! :)

there is nothing wrong with putting them both on the sides, it's a little security for you, when ur driving it would be dangerous to get destracted from your baby crying because your older one is messing with her, and who knows wht she could accidentally do to the baby in a little amount of time, i'd advise to put the carseats on the sides, it's ALOT safer.

i have 3-yr-old twins.
i put them on each side and put the little mirrors next to my rearview so i could see them. it was fine for me. i realized how long my arms really are!

but depending on how old your daughter is, she might be helpful next to the baby.
