I'm a high school sophmore and i'm wondering
what do the ivy leagues specifically look for in students(grades, rank, standerdized tests?)

All of the above. (grades, rank, standardized tests)

And if your application is not spell-checked and grammar checked, forget it.

Edit: No idea what the person below me is talking about. None of the Ivies give out athletic scholarships. The people who go to college at an Ivy do it the same way anyone else does: student loans. They are just in debt longer than anyone else.

Excellent grades and connections. I have heard that they look at your grades, SAT/ACT scores, and your family tree. Plus, unless you are a star athlete and they really need you, it will cost $$$$$$$$$. Why do you want to go to a Ivy League school? There are plenty of great Universities that are not Ivy League.
