Marijuana has many beneficial uses for many different things. Marijuana could help us economically, environmentally and in some cases medically. If paper were made from hemp that would be less trees that are being cut down. Clothes, paper, rope, twine, and many other things can be made from hemp. Also, if marijuana were legalized and they had figured out a way to tax it, there could be much needed economical relief. Taxes could be put into general funds for school, roads and other needs that many states have that are not being met by the current system. Less petty criminals in jails. People who are busted with marijuana can do more time than somebody who has raped a woman or child. The jails would be less crowded and we would be able to afford keeping real criminals behind bars. Medicinally, there are already studies that marijuana can be beneficial in many situations. It helps with chronic pain and many other conditions not relieved by regular or prescription medications. It also helps with nausea and increasing appetite in those who are going through chemotherapy. It is my opinion that marijuana has many uses and could benefit many aspects of our daily living.

The most compelling reason for legalization of marijuana is to relieve prison overcrowding. 1 in 34 of all Americans are now in prison, a percentage far higher than in any other nation in the world, at an enormous financial and social cost. Because of this overcrowding, prisons have become ever more dangerous, inmates are forced to join gangs for survival, and frequently come out more hardened than ever. In a misguided effort to curb "reefer madness", it can be argued that the present legal system is creating an even more dangerous society. And even federal studies have not been able to conclusively show that marijuana has a lasting impact on one's health, mental or otherwise. Here are some links to use to help you with your paper:

How about the money angle? If marijuana was legalized think of all the money they could make on the taxes. There would be less killings because of bad drug deals. And you could get it in prescription form from your optometrist. Hows that for some ideas to expound on???

seriously, Even if POT were legalized, there are way to many downfalls from the drug. It causes slow reflexes, burns brain cells and smoking one joint ids the equivalent to smoking an entire pack of cigarettes, Yummy! Have you ever met an intelligent Pot head???

No. Write your own paper. You need to do your own homework. How do you learn anything by asking people to do your work for you?
