A friend used because he thought it would help his right shoulder which is giving him problems. Therapists and a chiropractor said it was bone spur. The doctor said it was just a swelling. He quit using the machine because he felt it was making it worse not better.

I have a time or two, at the urging of a good friend who had one and really thought I needed it... I can't say that I noticed any distinct benefits. However, it forces you to lie down, hold still and remain like that for a period of time (depending on what you set it for)- and so I fall asleep- most of us would benefit from a little more sleep or a regular, short nap.

re your friend's specific problem- I can't see how this machine will help a bone spur. He should absolutely make sure what the problem is before trying just anything. Since he felt it was aggravating the problem, he was smart to stop.

fyi- here's what I got when I ran a 'chi machine' search: http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=Chi+machine&src=IE-SearchBox
