She probably isn't requiring the bottle because she's hungry, it's probably because the sucking soothes her. And you're right, it is time she stops sleeping with it. Children who fall asleep with a bottle tend to have alot of tooth decay from it. My best advice would be just to refuse giving it to her. She'll probably cry for it, but you have to stand firm. Lay her down and walk out of the room. She needs to learn how to soothe herself without the help from a bottle.
As for the cows milk, just start adding a little to her formula each day. Add a little more each day and eventually just give her plain cows milk.

With the milk, u gradually switch or add cowmilk with the formula.
Put a teaspoon of karo syrup in it will help.
Let the child drink the bottle until the child throws it across the room and dont want it any longer.
Just remember to clean the babys teeth when they fall asleep with the bottle. Orajel Baby Teeth Cleanser is in the grocers.
Just rub their gums.
Cow milk does not have the vitamins formula has so go slow about the switch.

Unfortunately, my son still gets his bottle before bed (and he's almost 18 months... I know, what a sin!), however the transition from formula to whole milk wasn't quite so difficult for me to break. Using an 8 ounce bottle, I would put 2 oz milk, 6 oz formula. After about 3 days, I did 3 oz milk, 5 oz formula, and so on, until he only had milk in his bottle. Also, about a half hour before bed, I would give him a small, no sugar snack, so he had a fuller belly before bedtime. Now that's he older, I'm mixing water and milk so he's not getting too much milk before bedtime. (tooth decay). As for switching from bottle to sippy cup, I'll be watching what others say for good ideas! I'm having trouble with that myself. Good luck!

When I had to break my 2 youngest girls from the bottle, I started only putting water in the bottle. If they wanted anything else to drink, they had to drink it from a cup. They still took the bottle to bed with them for awhile as a comfort but it soon wore off because they didn't want the water. I can't help you with the cow milk situation, as I never had a problem with that. Hope this helps!

Give her a bottle or sippy filled with water instead of milk when she goes down. It's an important habit to break and the sooner you tackle it the better. As for her switching to Cow's milk - just keep offering it to her - perhaps even mix it with formula to start with.

To get your baby to sleep without a bottle you should try holding and rocking her until she goes to sleep then lie her down. Try mixing half milk and half water for a couple of days to get her to drink cows milk.

Take the bottle over to the garbage can with your daughter and say "mommy is going to let the bottle go in the garbage, isn't this fun (kids name)...no more bottle for mommy or you. We will be ok. Then give her the sippy cup...Congratulations, mommy and daughter are now at the sippy stage!
