Definitely in the middle... but be sure you have the proper kind of seat for your seatbelt (i.e lap belt, or shoulder strap). If you don't have a bench seat in the back, I believe the seat behind the passenger, is the next safest.

In the back seat, preferebly not the middle, but behind the passenger seat... this is easyer for you to reach them, and if you have to open your window it wont affect them as much. Also most local fire departments have iether inspections or know when and where they will be held. We thought ours was installed properly, and totally wasnt, it was quick and easy to learn. We feel much safer having it installed properly, and now knowing how to do it right every time. Also kiwanas clubs sometimes hold safty inpections... it depends on whats in your area. Local fire station is the best bet on getting this info. You are smart to ask. Great Q.

Also, when our child was 10 months old, she was to tall for the seat, they told us exactly what seat she needed and even gave us a coupon to the local babies r us. Even though she was still 10 months, they felt it would be safer to put her in the next stage of car seat. The rule is if your babies head in an infant seat is at least an inch or farther under the top of the seat, then it is safe. if there is less than an inch then you may want to consider a different seat. Good luck.

In the middle. I went through a license check and had the policeman check mine. I would say any police since they are the ones that put on most of the car seat checks. I would say just go to your local police department. They are the ones that can give you a ticket for no properly installing a car seat.

The seat is best in the middle of the back seat. You can always go to any fire station to get it inspected!

The best place to put your baby seat for your baby and you is on the back seat behind the passengers front seat. That information came from a fire marsell that i know, just never put it behind the drivers seat.

You can have it inspected at the local firehouse or the health department. It is safer to have it in the middle of the back seat, facing backwards gor children 12 mo. and under. and facing forward after 12 mo.
