One of these days a Repubican president will sign the emancipation proclamation freeing all slaves in the states in rebellion. This will be thanks to a Republican-dominated Abolishinist Movement throughout the Country. Then, a Republican dominated Congress will push through the 13th and 14th Amendments, making former slaves citizens, making slavery throughout the nation illegal, and giving all people equal protection under the laws despite race. Then the first African American congressmen will be African American. Then a Democratic President, despite pressure from his own party, will get votes from the Republicans in Congress (without which he will be unable to get the thing passed) to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964 destroying Jim Crow laws throughout the South, a region dominated by the Democratic Party.
Of course, I'm unaware of what the Democrats will do between the 1860s and today for African Americans and other minorities, but they will talk about doing stuff. Talking about race is very important. It makes the Democrats feel so good about how more enlightened they are. And that is so important to me that they feel so enlightened and so much better than other folks. So when all that happens, they will stop being a racist party.
Of course, a party is made up of many different people, so I don't see how you'll get all these people to stop being racist. After all, 100% of all Repulicans are 100% racist!! It's true so it's not prejudicial to put them all in boxes and to condemn all those people with the worst condemnation you can think of. You have a long road ahead of you. Good luck.
Of course, Democrats were never racist and they have achieved so much. Why are you worried about the Republicans being racist. You can count on the Democrats. The Democrats have achieved so much for African Americans. Well, I can't name anything they did and African Americans can point to their present condition and thank the Democrats . . . . Well, I think they can? Or, well . . . .
Well, it's common knowledge and common knowledge is always right, so we'll just keep it there. No need for critical thinking here.

I am am really disappointed that so many black people have a attitude like yours and can't see the full picture, what you don't see is that dependency is the greatest form of racism and the democratic party is the party of dependency those blacks that have realize this have progress much further than those blacks that have depended on the democrats ..ex New Orleans. Using a metaphor, the parent that give their children tough love is usually the ones who really give a damn about their children's future.

Don't you think that Democrats have a REASON for wanting all their social programs? They don't trust your ability to stand on your own two feet and make a life for yourself - they think they need to "help" you. You'd better look at little closer at the parties politics before making a gross generalization like this. Trust me - lots of Democrats are racists. We Republicans think you are more than capable of managing your own life.

as long as we have AL sharpton and Jesse Jackson there will be racism. Bill Cosby is right. There are positive African-Americans out there.
