Freebies make the world go 'round.
Give away t-shirts, lighters, pens, etc.
Anytime that people think they're getting something, no matter how trivial, for free, they'll beat a path to your door.
Do free Bar-B-Qs and hot dog cookouts.
Have free soda and coffee...always.
Keep the soda cold, and the coffee fresh.
Organize charity runs. Costs you next to nothing, and it's great publicity. Feed the riders at the end of the run.
Basically, make your shop a place that folks want to hang out, not just shop and "get the hell out".
Shrink your profit margin as much as you can.
Become "the dealer that gives the best deals".
You should know from Business 101 that, given the same or similar product, price drives everything.
Trust me, they'll beat a path to your door...

A way that is guaranteed to bring in riders, if not actual customers, is to sponsor a ride or fund raiser. It works very well if you can make it into a kind of small event with other sponsors. An example: a few months ago, my wife and I went on one of these. We donated our ten dollars, had a nice (pre-planned) ride, with a stop for a very good lunch about 3/4 way through. Lunch was at a local restaurant (another sponsor). They kept their cost down by serving a limited menu for the event. Many people said they would come back on thier dime for dinner. I'm sure the Dealership brought back some too. Of course, there were some impulse buys that day also. I think there may even have been a small amount of local media coverage as well.

One shop I worked at would have parties in the parking lot hosted by popular radio stations. Advertise on radio and send out fliers. Music, free food, drawings for T-shirts, drawings for a helmet, everyone that signs the book (name & address) gets a 10% discount when purchasing a new bike within 2 months (by signing the book, the shop got names & address' for their mailing list to be used for the next event LOL) The event's date would then be passed along to friends and family.

Find a couple of good-looking knowledgeable female salesmen. Its being done in some dealerships.
I might point out that about 10% of all new mc sales are to women.
