The Spanish language (Español) is not really a language the correct name is Castilian. The Castilian maybe is the principal language of Spain but is not the only one spoken. Basque and Catalonian are other equal important languages of the country.

spain was once predominately muslim.....then the king and queen(the same one's that sponsered Columbus's voyage to america) proposed a rule: either you convert to Catholocism or leave. that is why spain today is mostly catholic.
