first off 1 rad=360degree divided by 6.28=57.3
pi=3.14 2pi rad=360 degree
therefore 12 rad= 12*57.3 =687.6 degree rounded to 688 degree

This isn't too hard. First you need to know the definition of a radian. Remember the formula for the circumfrence of a circle?
circumfrence = 2*pi*r
r is the radius, and a radian is the same as ONE radius.
So a radian is 360 degrees (one time around the circle) divided by 2*pi
12 radians is therefore 360/(2*pi)*12.
