What are some simple tricks you can do off jumps or in the park? I've been boarding for a while but i've finally decided to attempt something this season.
So far I can do like butters and manuals and 180's and little stuff on the slope. I would like to get into bigger tricks without breaking myself though.

Start of small and simple. Try just popping off the lips of the jumps and bringing your knees up while you're in the air. Nice, basic style is the building blocks of doing more complex tricks. The first grab you should go for is an Indy grab. This is when you grab your board with your rear hand on your toeside edge between your bindings. Never, ever grab Tindy which is on your toeside edge on your tail. That is quite possibly the worst grab ever. Also, practice riding switch and when you're comfortable go for frontside 180's. Start small on little bumps and moguls then work your way up. Remember it's all about turning your shoulders, bring your knees up to make yourself a smaller package and the spin will be easier. Once your comfortable there go backside. BS 180's are seriously one of the coolest, most fun, most stylie tricks you'll ever see. Same deal with the FS 180's, use your shoulders to spin. This will be blind and requires more commitment. I find that if you look down at your nose while spinning you will stay committed and whatever you do, try not to revert as soon as you land, keep looking at the nose of your board (or back up the hill) as you ride away and slowly bring your head around.

Master those tricks and the rest will come much more easily

try different grabs. Then try two handed grabs, like rocket airs then start tweaking grabs, watch videos of shaun white doing methods off a big kicker. Not spins just a straight method. You can make just simple grabs look great by just tweaking them a little bit. After you get sick of straight grabs, throw in 180 grabs. If you can jump and land a 180 and ride away you are well on your way. Riding away switch is very hard to learn well. I recommend 180 indys first they are very easy, the hardest part of any 180 grab isn't making it around but it is landing it. Start off very small kickers then work your way up. Always try to hold the grab out as long as possible. then start doing 180s with two handed grabs (rocket airs) Once that is mastered start tweaking the grabs while doing the 180s. Then just spin more and do different grabs. Then go inverted. Easist grab = indy.
