The Ouija board (wee-je) also known as a spirit board or talking board, is a flat board marked with the letters of the alphabet, the numbers 0-9, the words "yes", "no", "hello" (occasionally), and "goodbye", along with various symbols and graphics. It uses a planchette (small heart-shaped piece of wood) or movable indicator to indicate the spirit's message by spelling it out on the board during a séance. Participants place their fingers on the planchette, and it is moved about the board to spell out words. "Ouija" has become a trademark that is often used generically to refer to any talking board.
Mainstream religions and some occultists have associated use of a Ouija board with the concept of demonic possession, and view the use of the board as a spiritual threat and have cautioned their followers not to use a Ouija board. Despite being criticized by the scientific community and deemed demonic by Christians, Ouija remains popular among many people.

i wanna know why (how) this last guy thinks ouija boards can be so harmful (cuckoo-cuckoo)...

Anyway one time i lit a bunch of candles (at the stroke of midnight) and since nobody else was home and i read it takes more than 2 hands to operate the little plastic schooch thing, i placed my hands on the sides of it and my wang in the middle.
I starting gyrating about swaying a little, in the moonlight, i was trying to get it to tell me what channel survivor was on again.
Anyway - i didn't get the answer but a week later i discovered i had herpes.

That's probably what that previous poster was talking about.

Have you ever seen 'Derren Brown-Seance'? Search for it on google, or it'll probabley be on youtube. This disproves every shread of thruth relating to ouija boards, and proves that it is all to do with the sub concious and the power of the human mind. I'd advise you to try to find it because it's fascinating to watch.

My own experience is yes. i spoke to my dead father in law many years ago with my 2 daughters present. One of my daughters had put her baby upstairs to sleep. Whilst talking to my father in law, He told us that the baby was cryimg. my daughter went upstairs and found the baby crying it@s eyes out. he then asked if we would play a Jim Reeves record, so we did and the glass was going around the table dancing to the record. The glass was moving on it's own. This is absolutely true.

Is that the same as that very useful tool for contacting the spirits, a Ouija board?

It depends. The purpose of the Ouija Board is not to contact the dead but to entertain, so - at the risk of oversimplifying this - if you are entertained then it works.

Never tried - best to be avoided, like seances or any other activity which involves calling up the dead. It'll have a bad affect on you.

yes, they do... I have had a personal experience with one about 10 years ago. My sister conjured up some devils and we had to call a priest to "cleanse" the house.
