It's possible-my ex girlfriend is like a "sister" or best friend, we still call each other, we'll go to see a movie & dinner once in a while-(like a friendly date). The reason we broke up is we lost interest in the things we like to do-(we met in a night club yrs. ago), & as time went by she didn't wanna go out & "party" anymore along with other things-but anyways, it's best if we stay good friends & keep in touch. -But good luck with you & your boyfriend.

Gosh...this is really tuff...I am going through the same problem..except for the group part. It's hard to be friends with someone if they have feelings for you...not until both of you have moved on can there be true friendship without the feeling of a relationship.

Good luck.

ummm sounds like u don't have much faith in this relationship-am i right? well anyway the best thing is to make it an easy breakup(nice i mean) and then keep your distance after u break up then after afew months everything can prettymuch go back to normal
good luck n take care

Forget it, you'll never be good friends. You'll just make each other miserable.

instead of telling him that you want to "break up" tell him that you just want to be friends...
