The original constitution did not have many specific rights awarded to citizens.....I think there are 2 or 3 actaul laws..One about treason...The main point of the constitution was to establish the branches of the government...but the colonists, then turned americans were afraid that their rights would be trampled by the government, just like king george did...So shortly after the constitution the BIll of rights was constructed, which was the first ten amendments to the constitution, which provided Americans with many individual liberties...of which i find to be extremely important...the ones i find most important are freedom of speech and gathering, also the fourth and fifth, which provide due process rights, rights against unfair criminal treatment, search and seizure laws and what not....hope this helped

The Bill of Rights is part of the constitution. Specifically, it's the first 10 amendments to the constitution.

Among those rights are freedom of the press, freedom to assemble, freedom of speech, the right to keep and bear arms (though many disagree with this interpretation), the right not to have to house soldiers in your home, the right to a speedy trial, the right to a public trial, the right to your own religion and to worship as you wish, etc.

I've certainly exercised my freedom of speech, right to assemble, and right to own arms. Not so much the other stuff, but they're there if I need'em.

The Constitution was in danger of not being enacted by those who feared it gave the government too much power. So as a response, the delegates promised to quickly enact a Bill of Rights similar to that of Virginia.

There's a great site called ConstitutionFacts.com I've linked below to the portion pertaining to the Bill of Rights. I've also linked to the Virginia Bill of Rights for reference.

I'm sick of kids coming on here looking for answers to their homework.

And I bet if somebody actually answers this, you'll copy it down word for word and not even pay attention to what it says.

People these days...

You can't even think of any freedoms on your own?

You're going to be in high school for a loooooong time.
