Leonardo DiCaprio is a very good actor. He's very talented. To answer your question, I would definitely have to say that ,in my opinion, Leo's BEST movie role was when he played the mentally retarded character known as "Arnie" in the movie "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?". He did a wonderful job portraying his character. It's also one of my favorite movies.
I also think he did a really great job in Titanic. I know you said not to say Titanic, but there's just no denying how great he did in that movie. He really is a wonderful actor and one of my favorites.
