Get a carbon monoxide detector. I had a friend who was diagnosed with migraines when they later found out was carbon monoxide poisoning.

You just answered your own question. When you turn on the heat, you get a headache. Get Carbon Monoxide detectors and place one on each floor. If they don't sound off, then its not that. If it is, then you'll have to contact a repairman for your heating system.
Do you have humidifiers in your house? Heating the house decreases the humidity in the home. In Winter, your house can be as dry as a desert (10% humidity), which can cause headaches and nosebleeds. Install a house humidifier to get it up to 40%.
The black stuff can be cleaned with straight bleach. Use a Q-tip to paint the bleach on the stuff. It will be gone within an hour.

Your headache could be caused by many things but there are a couple that come to mind with what you have described. You could have some sort of toxic mold growing in your house. Find out if their is a local agency that helps test for it. Either that or your air is to dry and you need a humidifier. I get the worst sinus headaches every year after I turn my heat on because the air gets so dry that my nasal passages are to dry. Good Luck

Sounds like Co poisoning.. get a detector, or call the fire dept out, they can check too with a special detector they have.. but only do this after the house has been closed up.. it allows teh Co to build up making it possible for the FD to read teh level.
the black mold could be doing it to... try sleeping in a dif room to see if that makes any dif if the co results come back negative.
do it quick... CO can and does KILL.

Sounds like Carbon Monoxide poisening which can be fatal. You need to have your local fire dept come over and test the levels in your home immediately and then purchase a carbon monoxide detector for the safety of your family.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

I don't have any experience with this but it sounds like you can have a mold problem that causes terrible health problems. I would suggest you getting someone to check your house out. Good luck

get a carbon monoxide alarm, it can cause headaches and can be deadly. Its very common for a CO2 leak to occur if you have not run your heater for a while. Get it checked out ASAP!
