I am making soy candles, and the directions say to use a Presto pot. I know Presto is a brand--but does anyone know why they specify the Presto brand? Does Presto use some different type of metals or something?

A Presto Pot is a Melting pot also known as Kitchen Kettle.
They are for melting wax (parrafin, soy, and gel) for Candlemaking or Melt/Pour soap base for soapmaking.

I would say that it is an affiliate with the Presto company. Alot of things that are affiliated will promote something else they make under a different name or company; like Surf laundry detergent recommends Snuggle fabric softener on the box.
