I know some fireplaces can do both gas and wood but you should check on the manual if you have one.
The best indicator would be a place to put the logs inside the fireplace.
Otherwise it is not recommended.

alto of fire boxes r both reg.. and gas units.....if ur fire box has a chimney and a flue and a damper ....then yes u can.....have a gas man come and remove ur gas line......and would have him or some one u trust inspect the flue.......
