Just askin cause my friend told me when he was in coach pitch that he took out his cup when he was in the dugout and forgot to put it back in when he went back to catcher and the ball bounced off the dirt and hit him in the nuts.

Are you serious? Apparently you've never played sports.

No. You keep it on the whole game.

Cups are for sissies. I've caught guys chucking up to low nineties in games and don't wear a cup. When the baseball goes into the dirt you're supposed to block it - catching it is a bonus. Not having a cup on makes sure that you put the glove between your legs to protect myself and then put my body in front of the ball to block the ball.

Have any of you morons actually worn a cup? You don't need to stick your hand down your pants to take it out, and it isn't worn like a thong (TJ must wear one to know, pansy). The cup (hard plastic) slides down into a pocket sewn onto the front of something that looks exactly like a jock, you then snap it closed. To take it out one would open or pull the top of their pants out and slide it out from slightly below the waist band, however you do not take it off to bat ... it protects you nuts for all nine innings, on both offense and defense.

No, cups are put on similar to how you might put on a thong. You don't go taking them off in the dugout.

Further, the whole point is to protect yourself during gameplay. If you take them off before the gameplay, there'd be no point.

I used to take mine off when I would pitch....then one day an "event" occurred...and I always wore one on the mound after that.
Just leave the cup on.

No keep it on the entire game. It is uncomfortable at first but then you get used to running and moving around while wearing it.
