Who else thinks MTV is the soucre of all evil?

It's corrupting society by making every little person (especially girls) super ficial. Besides its not even music television. They never play any music and when they do its all rap. Now they have cruddy shows like the real world, making every single person watching the channel more superficial. God damn you cable channel 41.

I have been watching MTV since it came on the air. I watched it when it was just music videos. My mom thought it would rot my brain as a kid. Well I am still here. They do some shows on the real life series that are not superficial. It is really the hard side of life. Block it if you do not like it. I have loved that channel since it came on the air. I am way outside of the age range now. Yeah I am over 25 or whatever their max age is.

MTV in its inaugural decade was an amazing thing- music videos, the new medium, acting as the voice of a new generation as outraged parents tried to put a stop to it, feeling that the new channel was corrupting their impressionable young children with its images of sex and violence.

Apparently, 25 years after the moon man first raised the MTV flag, we still have opponents of the channel who feel that it is the "source of all evil." All I can say is, you and I had our MTV generation-let's let the kids have theirs. It's fine to disagree with this generation's culture, but it seems sort of unfair to mock it. Just remember how it infuriated you when your parents just didn't seem to understand, and let it go.

I don't think it's the source of all evil, but I do think it's the worst channel EVER. I pretty much agree with everything you said.... They shouldn't legally be allowed to call it Music Television....

& just a thought to the person who said you've had yer MTV generation & to let the kids have theirs, I'm sad to say, I am a part of this generation... It's really quite sad....

All "reality shows" are evil because they get so many people's attention and they are so boring.
It's like sitting in someones living room and just talking; Who needs that.
Bring some good old programs back, like mysteries, real crime programs, or just programs with suspense.
Those programs with talking things over, telling or expressing your feelings are for the birds.
I can do that at the psychiatrists office.

OH, wow thank you. Somebody agrees with me...but it's not all that bad, they do publicise (sp?) any crisis going on 9not that anyone who watches MTV pays attention to that stuff though) but I do agree it is bad. It has bad shows, and what I think is bad music (they play music on TRL).
