I think anyone who plays baseball wears a cup

I think they all wear some kind of cup. You've got to field sharp, choppy grounders in the outfield too.
Outfielders also have to bat. Have you ever fouled a ball off your foot? Imagine fouling a ball off your... Yeah, you get the picture.
I'm sure they wear a soft cup at least, as I'm sure mobility is a concern as the dude before stated.

In high school, I know that cups are not mandatory. I play outfield, and i know that a number of my teammates do not wear cups. I have been playing baseballl for 12 years, and i have not been wearing a cup for 3. so far it hasnt affected my play besides making me able to move better. it also depends on your skill level. if you are confident that you can protect yourself, dont wear one

Yes, I play right and centerfield and even though it seems improbable...there have been some strange happenings in the past so I wear a cup at ALL times. I'd rather be safe than sorry, if you know what I mean.

I would say that very few outfielders in the MLB wear them,except in practice(because of number of chances).But in High School I believe their mandatory.

Most likely no because major league fields have no bad hops in the outfield. Plus it is easier to run and track down balls.

ALWAYS WEAR A CUP.
I'm a catcher so I get hit plenty, but I've played everywhere and all it takes is getting hit once.
