You should start your essay off with an attention grabbing quote like .. "money can't buy happiness, but it can buy other things"... I don't think you should say money is the root to all evil in your opening unless you want to explain how you think its evil in relation to what you choose to buy. If you use the happiness quote you can then use what you choose to buy and tell how those things will make you happy later in life.
Three things you can probably talk about in a whole paragraph are: a house, an education (college, graduate school, books, supplies) and a nice vacation (someplace extravagant like a trip around the world), a car, something for your parents.. etc.

Perhaps talk about how money can be used for helping others, supporting yourself, your family, your pets, etc. How it can be donated to certain groups which in turn helps others. Providing shelter, food, comfort for others as well as yourself. Perhaps how money orginated through the trading of basic items, that slowly became trading gold, and other valuables, which grew into money.
