It's not the best look. But it depends on 4 things to make it work, the shade of gray, the shade of brown, the top you will be wearing, and where you will be wearing it to. Even though they are both neutrals, not all grays and browns can be paired with each other. And this is not a good professional look. It's better for a business casual or a casual look.

Since you can't change what is already in your closet, try to find a shirt with gray and brown in the pattern, whether it's stripes or something else. That way you will tie the two pieces together in the top, so it won't look odd that your pants and shoes are such different colors. If you can, add another non-neutral color, like burgundy or navy, in the shirt so you don't look so dull. A casual shirt, like a polo or poplin, would be a better style choice rather than a dress shirt.

The gray slacks and the brown shoes really don't go together you might want to invest in some black shoes but if not black socks are the only way you go But I'd really get rid of brown shoes with the gray.

Sure you can. You will be making people very happy...so happy they will be laughing. Now...go out and buy some black shoes, and don't wear white tube socks with them. Better still. Have your mom come over and dress you.

I say **** what people think. Wear what you want, and what's comfortable. Don't be a sheep. If folks can't handle what you wear, that's THEIR malfunction.
