You can type a ¢ by typing Alt+0162 (holding down the ALT key while you type 0162 using your number pad, then releasing the ALT key). If you can't get this to work, open up your Character Map (usually found in Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools) and find the ¢ sign, double-click it, hit the Copy button, and paste it into your document.
