Would you still invite them to the wedding? Say if every time you go to a family gathering for the holidays and they treated you differently than everyone else and treated you like crap and they always ruined the occassion for you because of their constant insulting remarks that you had to leave because they hurt your feelings so bad, would you still invite them to your wedding? This is the most important day to you and you want the day to be special and you want nothing to ruin it but you know that if you invited everyone then that is exactly what will happen. If you don't invite them, they might get hurt and then it will be on your mind all day. What should you do in a situation like this?

The POLITE thing to do is to INVITE Them to the wedding. They are family no matter what -- and family needs to be a part of the joyous occasion.

Your wedding is one of the biggest days of your life. If you do not invite them, they may hold a grudge against you for years to come, and it will make it very hard to ever reconcile. If you wish to have a future relationship with them (especially if they are your immediate family), you should invite them.

Remember, you are so busy on your special day, taking pictures, being with your new husband and speaking with the dozens of guests. It is not like you are sitting in a living room alone with them for hours. You could get away with talking to them for only 5 minutes that day.

If it is an ongoing feud, you can even talk ahead of time and say, "let's call it a truce for now. I love you and we are family and I want you to be there".

Family bridges are bad bridges to burn down because home is where the heart is. Very corny but true. Best wishes!

this is what I would do:

- find the most romatic place you can think of get get married.
- go there and spend all the money you would on a local place to get married there.. just you two. It could save you money because then you can honeymoon there too.
- a month later.. have a reception and then invite the nimrods knowing that they may show up (most likely they won't because they will still be pissed that there wasn't a wedding). That way you can party with everyone and still have a special wedding!

no, don't invite them family or not. for crying out loud they have been poops to you and just because they are family does that mean you have to be treated like ^#!%...take a stand. it is your special day don't let those who treat you poorly ruin it...they can think about why they weren't invited! and don't even think about their feelings getting hurt they don't deserve your time...

If they always ruin the occasion, then my answer is no. But if it seems like they are well manered people then yes I would. You have to think your signiacant other's family. whether they like you or not its still their family. Besides you don't have to seem 24/7

If you truly love your family and friends, then you should invite them. If they choose not to come, then oh well. Resentments held are never good.

No....leave them bastards out of it. Family or not, how they treat you shows you how much they love you. Start a new family without them.

This is your special day and you would want to celebrate it with people who you care about and people who care about you, leave them out don't let anyone spoil your happy day.
