I just moved to a very dry climate and I am having a lot of trouble with static electricity. I feel like every time I touch anything I get shocked, blankets are a nightmare and the poor cat even gets his nose shocked when he sniffs things or when I touch his fur. What solutions are there for this problem?

look at it not as a negative but as a positive... use this new found power to keep the kids in line, the husband on task, and the cat out of your kitchen! or if you found a way to focus the energy, who knows, you might just rule the world one day!

Buy a tabletop fountain and run it everyday. It does the same thing as a humidifier but it looks and sounds a lot nicer.

i discovered this one accidentally, but for me it works. i have a safety pin pinned to the bottom hem of everything i wear. shirts and pants. i dont get shocked anymore unless i put on something that doesnt have a safety pin. i still get shocked if i wear tennis shoes, but i havent tried putting a safety pin on them yet. i dont know why it works, but its a heck of a lot better than getting shocked!!!!!

Use a humidifier, this will put moisture into the air, and make conditions more pleasant.
