Does anyone know any major political current events that have happened in the last two to three weeks? I have to do a current events project and their haven't been much groundbreaking nes lately such as the Mark Foley scandal or the Hugo Chavez comments, but if anybody has any good ideas im open to suggestions. The paper has to be about 4 pages double spaced so i need a pretty big topic

Here ae 3 political stories from the Middle East

(1)A defiant Prime Minister Fouad Siniora said he would not stand down after Pro-Syrian Hezbollah and its allies called for a mass protest in Beirut on Friday to try to force out the government.
(2)Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki , Iraq's Shiite leader was firm, his aides say — he would not talk to President Bush with Jordan's Sunni King Abdullah ll listening.
(3) Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas declared Thursday that months of coalition talks with the ruling Hamas have hit a "dead end" — and his aides said he's done negotiating with the Islamic militants.
Abbas' dramatic statement, made with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice at his side, could deepen internal strife in the Palestinian territories and set the stage for new elections.
